studio-scale TIE bomber model
This is a TIE Bomber model that I have built from scratch in 1995.

It is the same size as the original Industrial Light & Magic model used during the making of Star Wars: "The Empire Strikes Back".
Most of the details were kit bashed from the same model kits ILM used for the original model.

The wings and the cockpit window on this Star Wars model (as well as the ones on the original) were both taken from the MPC/ERTL Darth Vader Tie Fighter model kit (which was originally released right after Star Wars: A New Hope, just in time for the making of The Empire Strikes Back). I simply added a small strip of styrene all the way around the wings to make them a little bigger.
